The most active curls and shiniest waves start out the same way: with a squirt of shampoo and a hit of conditioner. No matter what your hair challenges are, a little lathering, rinsing, and repeating can do a world of good — if you’re deliberate. Check out the best hair care routine according to your hair concern:
FRIZZY HAIR
Frizzy hair is usually dry. Since sulfates are heavy-duty detergents that can dry out hair, sticking to sulfate-free shampoos is recommended such as Kama Ayurveda lavender and patchouli hair cleanser. The gentlest shampoos pair mild detergents with moisturizers. There’s been a strong negative reaction against silicones in shampoos, but you’ll still want them in frizz-busting conditioners because they form a film which smooths the cuticle to prevent frizz.
Detangle with Forest Essentials Hair Conditioner & add moisture to very dry hair and that’s key for smooth tresses. long hair needs extra hydration because your scalp’s own oils don’t travel all the way down spirals.
Frizzy hair is previous and soaks up moisture from humid air and swells. Plugging those little gaps can prevent that absorption. Using a leave-in conditioner or serum with silicones or polymers is recommended.
LIMP HAIR
Limp hair looks thickest when shampoos containing silk, wheat, or soy proteins Kiehl’s Amino Acid Shampoo or Khadi Wheat Protein Shampoo are used. Shampoo containing a detergent, like ammonium laureth sulfate, will work better to remove the oils that can make hair lie flat on your head.
Detangle – When you choose a conditioner, avoid dimethicone present in almost everything but tends to be too heavy for fine or thinning hair. Kiehl’s Amino Acid Conditioner or The Moms Co Natural Protein Conditioner.
Dry shampoo gets rid of grease that weighs down fine roots — and the same powders that soak up oil also add thickness by pushing individual strings of hair apart.
DAMAGED HAIR
Friction, from brushing wet hair or massaging on shampoo, can weaken hair wear. Pre-shampoo treatments and leave-in conditioners coat hair with slippery lipids and oils to lessen the rubbing so your hair is less likely to snap. Oils are the best reliable options to pre-shampoo for any kind of hair because they have no chemicals, therefore even if you overdo it, it is not going to hurt your hair
When your split ends have split ends, shampoos, conditioners, and masks with polyquaternium-28 and PVMA copolymer in Omved Herbal Shampoo for dry hair will act like super glue: The duo binds split ends together for at least a few washes
Detangle – Damaged hair has a negative charge which can be used as an advantage. L’Occitane Repairing Masks will positively charge moisturizers deliver extra hydration by sticking to hair’s weakest spots like magnets, where hair needs it most.
Each time you wash your hair, it swells with water and then contracts as it dries. That process loosens the cuticle, which makes it more likely to get damaged and, eventually, splitting. Unfortunately, even repair-related shampoos and conditioners can’t prevent it, so try not to wash your hair (with water) more than necessary. Dry shampoo can take care of greasy roots in the meantime, but, avoid using it every day as it can lead to an itchy, flaky scalp.
FLAKY HAIR
Mild cases of dandruff can be treated with shampoos that contain ketoconazole or zinc pyrithione. Both chemical compounds contain antifungal and antibacterial properties which help to reduce flake-causing fungus growth on the scalp. Also, zinc pyrithione makes hair look shinier.
The fungus that causes flakes can recolonize the scalp quickly, so once in a week, mix Kalonji oil with any carrier oil in 1:2 proportion and massage it in your hair. Leave it overnight and wash it off next morning with mild anti-dandruff shampoo – The Body Shop ginger shampoo. Massage the product in and leave it for few minutes. Avoid hair styling products for the first few weeks of treatment, since they can leave buildup that blocks active ingredients.
Choose a hair conditioner according to hair type dry, oily or normal.
Chemical based anti-dandruff shampoos can be harsh on your hair and scalp, so using a conditioner is recommended but it shouldn’t leave much residue. Product buildup on the hair and scalp will only worsen the condition by leaving a film that could interfere with the shampoo’s curative action. A conditioner with glycerin and lightweight oils, like apricot-kernel oil, argan oil, is recommended.
